Become a Volunteer Advocate
Volunteering as an advocate means standing alongside someone who might otherwise struggle to have their voice heard – whether that’s navigating a complex care assessment, challenging a decision that affects their housing, or simply being understood by the professionals around them. As a volunteer advocate with Advocacy Matters, you don’t need a legal or medical background; what matters is your ability to listen without judgement, communicate clearly, and commit to someone else’s best interests. It’s a role that asks a lot of you in terms of empathy and reliability, but the impact you can have on a person’s confidence, independence and outcomes can be profound. If you have time to give and a genuine desire to make a difference in your local community in Birmingham or Walsall, volunteering as an advocate could be one of the most meaningful things you do.
