Advocacy Matters want to ensure our volunteers get as much out of volunteering as they put into it.
Our volunteers say this is what they get out of being a volunteer advocate or befriender;
- New skills and valuable work experience.
- Making new friends
- Better physical and mental health and well-being
- Giving something back
- Improving their confidence
- Sense of connection to disabled people in the community
- Improving things in the lives of the people we advocate for
We held our annual Volunteers Thank You Event on the 19th of June at the Boldmere Methodist Church. At our Volunteers Pamper Day we had massage, mindfulness to music, Seated Tai Chi , a sound bath and a fashion talk from Age Concern. We had lots of food, samosas went particularly well! Later we had a raffle top prizes ticked to Bannatynes gym and The Think Tank.
We really appreciate all our volunteers.
A special thank you to all the people who made out Pamper Day possible:
