#VolunteersWeek Vol to Vol Story: Advocacy Matters and Us
Corporate Volunteer, Joe in conversation with
Admin Volunteer, Nuala
- Who am I:
I’m Joe and I work for Britvic. I live in Birmingham, love playing football and my favourite team is West Bromwich Albion.
- How I got involved with AM?
Through my work I had a charity day where I could support an organisation . My Aunt had worked for AM and I thought it was time I stepped up and help others. I volunteer by reviewing their monitoring and database support.
- Memorable Volunteering Moment
It’s early days and its been interesting learning about the charity; how its run and it’s relationships. It’s different and there is a lot to learn.
· How I make a difference
I’m hoping to make more of a difference- early days.
Everybody needs help, even if it’s just a smile-it’s good to help others.
· How do you cope with stress
Learn perspective. Everything has a solution plus patience.
Do you consider yourself to be a patient person?
Yes , probably because of my upbringing, jobs I have done- I value patience. It’s important to know you’re there for someone.

It is the very purpose of life,
