National Day of Reflection

Posted on 23rd March 2021

“We need to reflect on the pandemic’s deep toll, mourn those we’ve lost, and mark the service and sacrifice of staff throughout the NHS. Simon Stevens, chief executive of NHS England

Today is a National Day of Reflection one year on from the start of the first lockdown in Britain. The day all our lives changed.

Today Advocacy Matters would like to remember all the citizens we have worked with during the pandemic that have died before their time due to the Covid-19 virus, some directly others as a result of complications and isolation.

We would like to thank all those who worked to save their lives in the NHS and those who gave selflessly working in care homes and volunteering to make vulnerable people lives better in the pandemic.

We would also like to thank our Hear to Help volunteers who are still providing a listening ear to vulnerable people in the west midlands who are isolated and alone.

Join us at 12 noon for a minutes silence a minute of reflection about who we have lost but also the selfless hard work of the front line workers.
