#Have a Go Month
The festival is the biggest celebration of lifelong learning in England.
It’s aim is to celebrate the benefits of lifelong learning and inspire more people to have a go at learning for themselves.
Have a Go Month is when they encourage organisations and learning providers to offer free learning activities for adults, such as taster sessions, online learning, talks or lectures, open days and more.
Advocacy Matters provides FREE Advocacy training for potential volunteers; if you would like to know more and are interested in supporting vulnerable people to have ‘their voices heard’- do contact us to learn about when out next course is starting and how you can share and learn, new skills.
Learning as an adult can be life changing. It can help to build confidence, help individuals to explore and gain a new hobby, interest or career.
Our Volunteer Advocates often start with us reticent about what to expect – or how they can help to improve other people lives.
Tharan, one of our great Volunteer Advocate shared that “learning new work and communication approaches has prepared me for paid roles and encouraged me to explore other training opportunities.
As well as, giving me insight into Social care processes and assessments. Working with vulnerable people who need support with an issue – you learn about resolution processes, how to research and importantly empathy and care”.
So go on explore learning – it has lifelong merits.
